You are studying or working in Germany, a country which gets advertised as very welcoming, modern and open-minded. Settling in and daily life can come with some unexpected obstacles, however. Many Germans don't speak sufficient English. Companies and government offices tend to throw convoluted German texts at you in their verbal and written communication. You don't get any replies to your inquiries with landlords or sellers of used items because your name sounds "weird" or your German in the first message isn't perfect or whatever.
We speak native German and fluent English. This project is here to act as your linguistic and sometimes even cultural adapter. We want to make things easier and for you to feel Welcome in Germany.
You are looking for an apartment near your place of work or study. We will ask you a few questions, pre-select offers according to your requirements and contact potential landlords. You will have us by your side through the whole process. We will accompany you during the apartment inspection and contract-signing and point out what to look out for in plain English.
Our moving support will join you on your moving day to help transport your belongings and pick up furniture and other items you need for your new home. We can also assist with finding used goods and take over price and appointment negotiations with potential sellers.
You received a letter or an email from your landlord, your telecommunications provider, a government office, etc. and the German text does not clearly reveal to you what your next step should be, if any. Simply send us a copy of the message or document and we'll translate and give you a clear answer and tell you whether and what to reply. If there are multiple options on how to proceed we will discuss them with you on the phone in English.
Problems with your current employer? We'll listen to your complaints, give you advice and tell you whether it's worth your time and money to consult a lawyer.
